2023 Trends as of Right Now

Key Items

Cargo

We’ve been seeing a utilitarian approach on the runway through use of cargo pant styles and an abundance of pockets.

Loose Knits

No doubt a new take on the crochet trend that dominated runways the last few seasons, we’ll now be seeing loose knits or knits that have some wear and tear.

Leg Warmers

The balletcore influence is holding strong as designers choose to accessorize with leg warmers.

Key Details

Conical Breasts

Think Madonna’s Jean Paul Gaultier’s conical bra, yep that’s the look that designers are flocking towards.

Ostrich Feathers

This trend has been on the runway for quite some time and it’s here to stay, as it is the perfect touch of pizzaz for a night out.

Ruching

As body con dresses are becoming more popular thanks to reinvested interest in Hervé Legér’s designs, this detail will be sure to add that extra oomph.

Flower Appliqués

This pretty thing started to gain influence through girly aesthetics that are being made popular through trends like balletcore, barbiecore, and coquette. Flower Appliqués have been making a splash recently as many have been obsessing over the dresses sold by Fancí Club.

Key Textiles/Prints

Sherpa

Keeping warm will be made easy as designers are gravitating towards lining the inside and outside of outerwear with Sherpa. So yes, the teddy bear style coats that many have come to love are here to stay, but now they’ll be more elevated.

Polka Dot

Polka dots are something I would consider a staple, but they were seen in so many collections that I could not leave them out. They also took on a more interesting approach in some collections, where they were featured as all over cut-outs in some garments.

Watercolor

Maybe this is inspired by that trend circulating around called art teacher core or it was inspired by the simplicity yet beautiful watercolor creations we all have had the chance to create, no matter the reason designers seemed to love the watercolor print this season.
