How to Keep Your Husband: Amehl S/S 2020

Amehl is known for surprising fashion shows, last year the brand landed on CBS news for holding their A/W 19 show at Garber’s Hardware store and for S/S 17 Amanda Mehl, the designer, choose a school bus as her location, but this year it was in an apartment near Union Square and it was decorated the way a housewife would in order to impress her husband. Fresh baked cakes made by dessert chef Chula Galvez decorated the tables, as well as glasses and glasses of wine that ranged from Rosé to a Licorice flavored variety.

Upbeat music played as models with towering hair wrapped in cord (which reminded me of Nebula’s hair accessories from Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century) walked around the various rooms in the apartment. The clothing varied, some pieces were made from lamé, some we’re embellished in jewels, chains, sequins and even shells, most pieces were colorful, and some had pictures of grapes and wine. They were paired with accessories such as long line gloves, chunky belts, colorful camera bags and one model was even holding a reusable water bottle. The models were sure to make a scene, two of the male models jumped up on the dinner table, which resulted the cakes to fall off and make a mess on the runway— no worries though, it was quickly cleaned up and the show continued. As always, the looks were a lot of fun and would definitely keep your husband on his toes.
