A Tropical Escape
When New York gets this cold I can’t help myself but to think of a tropical escape. Unfortunately for me I’ve never had the luxury of going to these beautiful humid islands when home gets bitterly cold; instead I dream of all the clothes I would wear on my imaginary trip far far away.
Everybody seems to have this same mindset of a leisurely getaway. Saks 5th Avenue’s window displays featured mannequins in exquisite resort collections posed up next to surf boards and with all the appropriate beach must haves. Even in Elle’s February issue there was an entire editorial spread dedicated for island wear called Point Break. Elle’s Editor-in-chief, Nina Garcia, enjoyed the beaches of Hawaii and became influenced by tie-dye, flatforms, and as Elle calls it “haute hippie extras”. So live this dream of sweet escape with me through these wonderful clothes and accessories that are begging for summer to come.

Bamba Swim is another Australian brand that I can’t get enough of. One pieces have always been my favorite type of swimwear and their zebra Cozi one piece is the right amount sexy.
Cult Gaia has an abundance of beach wear on their site. Their halter Brigette in white is perfect for those hot days. Plus the big bow on the back is everything.
